Statement of Solidarity from the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg

Dear Israeli Partners and Colleagues,
Dear members of the university
Dear students,

As Interim Rector of the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, I would like to express our shock and dismay about the brutal and inexcusable terrorist attacks on Israel and its people. We are utterly appalled by these cowardly acts of terrorism and particularly horrified by the terrorists’ savagery towards civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. We grieve for the innocent lives lost, our thoughts are with the wounded as well as the innocent hostages and their loved ones.

Rest assured that your safety and needs are of great concern to us, and we are deliberately working on accommodating your needs in this distressful situation. Should you, dear university members and students, be affected by the war in any way and are in need of support, we encourage you to reach out to rector@plus.ac.at. University staff members offer support and are happy to refer you to other free programs for psychological support. Of course, all inquiries will be kept strictly confidential.

We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are safe and assure you that we will do everything in our power to express our solidarity with you at this terrible time. We stand with Israel.
